For anyone wondering about these plates. They're pretty good. Here are the specs from my order. I bought 6x 25kg, 2x 20kg, 4x 15kg, 2x 10kg, 2x 5kg and a fractional plate set. There were some shipping errors but not the fault of great lakes (15kg plate was inside my 5kg box, this happened twice). They were very helpful and fairly quick to try and correct the issue. As a result of the mixup, I ended up buying an extra set of 15kg plates for a reduced cost for the trouble since I already had them in my possession.
They're all the calibrated style plates (the 5kg plates are not this style) but not actually calibrated to a strict tolersnce from factory. You will have to do that yourself. They have the Allen heads and the centre section splits open to adjust weight. I never opened them up tho. They're close enough for me. I weighed most of them with my bathroom scale, which seems to be a fairly accurate scale.
For the sake of accuracy I weighed them all in lbs. These are my findings.
25kg plates - 63mm thick - 25kg actual
20kg plates - 51mm thick - 19.95kg actual
15kg plates - 41mm thick - 15kg actual
10kg plates - 32mm thick - 9.95kg actual
5kg plates - 23mm thick - 5.1kg actual
All in all the plates are very close and thickness is pretty good too. I should be able to get 290kg on the bar (310kg with a 20kg bar) while still being able to get a collar lock on enough to hold them.
Always been happy with every purchase from GLG and these new bumper plates are no exception. Great addition to my “office gym”
Ordered the normal competition plates but they sent the poly urethane. Real happy with them tho. Beautiful plates
